Highlights of Dental Assistant Responsibilities:
Provide outstanding customer service for the patient, demonstrating excellent chairside manner
Assist the doctor with all dental procedures
Take radiographs of patients using standard digital dental radiographic equipment
Perform efficient and accurate procedures to help maintain doctors' schedule and patient flow; ensure limited to no patient wait time; maintain time flexibility for patient; be present, engaged, and prepared
Clean and set up treatment rooms
Review patient chart prior to doctor arrival and log appropriate patient data during exam and treatment
Scheduling appointments
Helping with incoming phone calls
Verifying dental insurance
Order and organize dental supplies
This is a full-time Dental Assistant position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

DENTIST POSITION SUMMARY
The Dentist provides high-quality dental care to the patient population within a correctional environment. This role involves comprehensive delivery of dental services including diagnosis, treatment, management, and non-surgical procedures for patients. The Dentist will work closely with the medical and administrative staff to ensure effective integration of dental services with other healthcare services provided to patients in a correctional environment.
DENTIST ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform and interpret radiographic exams as indicated.
Provide dental treatment to include emergency treatment of the teeth and surrounding soft tissues such as oral surgery, restorative dentistry and periodontal therapy within the scope of a general Dentist including extractions.
Correction of significant oral problems, which may adversely affect inmate’s health as, deemed necessary.
Make proper referrals for procedures which cannot be performed at facility.
Report any unusual occurrences or accidents to the site or Regional Medical Director. Attend training and meetings as required.
DENTIST MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Maintains current DEA number.
Currently licensed in the state.
Must be fluent in English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
Must be a supportive team member, who contributes to and demonstrates teamwork and team concept.
Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Able to deal tactfully with personnel, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Possess leadership and supervisory ability and be able to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
