InterCare is searching for a Dental Hygienist interested in working full-time, part-time, or 1099-contracted to join our team in Benton Harbor! The Dental Hygienist is responsible for assisting the dental providers with the provision of high quality, preventive patient centered primary oral health care to InterCare’s target populations.

Compensation Breakdown
New Grad - Starting at $34.00/hr.
2+ Years of Experience - Starting at $36.00/hr.
5+ Years of Experience - Starting at $38.00/hr.
8+ Years of Experience - Starting at $40.00/hr.
10+ Years of Experience - Starting at $42.00/hr.
Temporary positions (NO BENEFITS) available up to $50.00/hr. DOE

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, Ideally seeking candidate to staff clinic Monday - Friday, however, clinic is able to support some flexibility
Minimum Requirement
Possesses a thorough understanding of theory and practices of dentistry, acquired through graduating from an accredited four year Bachelor of Dental Hygiene program or a two year Associates in Dental Hygiene program.
Maintains active license through State of Michigan to practice dental hygiene.
Requirements:
Primary Accountability
Responsible for assisting the dental providers with the provision of high quality, preventive patient centered primary oral health care to InterCare’s target populations.
Description of Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Provides efficient and effective patient preventive care according to the adopted clinical standards.
Seats the patient, and prepares patients for treatment, including blood pressures, pulse, and patient identification.
Provides preventative treatment, including caries risk assessment, periodontal assessment, prophylaxis, applying sealants and fluoride treatments and taking radiographs under supervision of the dentist
Provides understandable and complete instructions for procedures done, using diverse learning techniques, and documentation of the patient’s understanding.
Regularly attends site, and assigned meetings
Returns phone messages, and e-mails in a timely manner.
Communication Skills
Possesses a professional level of written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate complex concept in a clear effective manner.
Possesses excellent cross cultural communication skills and the ability to communicate to staff members at all levels.
Physical Demands
Job duties are performed in the typical office environment of the organization, which requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations. The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following:
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, frequently sit, and lift up to 25 lbs
Requires good hand-eye coordination, reach with arms & hands, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and manipulate (using keyboard, office equipment, dental equipment)
Visual acuity to use keyboard, operate office equipment, and read printed material and regularly required to talk and hear.
