Clinica is an approved participant of the Colorado Health Service Corps and National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Programs. If program eligibility requirements are met, providers may be awarded up to $90,000 for helping our communities.

Your Essential Responsibilities
You will provide high quality dental care that is culturally appropriate and prevention focused
You will be responsible for evaluating patients for caries risk, periodontal pathology and for providing prophylactic and non-surgical periodontal treatment
You will be providing preventive clinical and education services including oral hygiene instruction, topical fluoride and sealants
When working on the medical clinic you will be the champion of dental prevention and education in an integrated medical setting and will coordinate with both medical and dental team members
You will be a leader, actively striving to improve patient and staff experience
Day-to-day direct supervision/coaching of Dental Hygienists, including hiring/firing authority and performance appraisals.
Assure assigned site hygiene productivity and efficiency and evaluate hygiene clinical quality, making use of reporting data to drive decisions and strategies for quality assurance (QA) and quality improvement (QI).
Work in coordination with Dental Hygienist Team Managers (DHTMs) at other sites to share best practices.
Work in coordination with the CDD, Dental Operations Director (DOD), to develop and implement organizational and clinical strategic plans, ensuring that dental hygiene is an integral part of a forward thinking and visionary dental program.
Orientation, education, and training (assisted by Operations and Human Resources (HR)) of new dental hygienist providers, including EDR.
Management of dental outreach activities in coordination with DOD and DOM including leadership and partnership on site-level integration with other lines of services as they relate to the Hygienist on the Pods program.
Exhibits positive leadership skills, actively striving to improve the patient and staff experience of Clinica, as well as strong communication skills, including willingness to grow and develop skills in motivational interviewing.
Maintain own dental hygienist practice as defined by the Clinica guidelines.
Maintains own administrative schedule as appropriate, leveraging administrative time to maintain optimal dentist and dental hygienist in-clinic FTE when possible or necessary.
Share responsibility with the CDD, DHTMs, DATMs and other staff assuring an appropriate clinical interface between dental sites.
Responsible for appropriate management of complaints directed at hygienist team, involving DDH or CDD as appropriate.
Oversee relationships with dental hygiene schools in conjunction with the DDH.
The DHTM will work in conjunction with the DDH who serves as the Dental Infection Control Officer (DICO) for the organization, for whom the responsibilities are:
Completion of routine observational tours of dental site’s infection control procedures for patient and staff safety and compliance with professional and clinical standards.
Planning and implementation of periodic training of dental clinical staff members with direct patient contact or involved in dental infection control according to identified areas of need or new infection control processes with the support of the DICO.
Serving as site-level level point of contact for dental infection control policies, procedures, and systems, working in conjunction with the DICO to provide infection control QA/QI leadership and support to the team.
Position Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited School of Dental Hygiene
Possession of a current Colorado license as a registered dental hygienist
A minimum of 3 years working as a Dental Hygienist is required
Permit to administer local anesthetic
Basic computer skills required
Sensitivity to low income and ethnic minority communities
Excellent coaching skills.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Perform the duties to assist the Dental Director, Dentists, and Hygienists in the care and treatment of patients. Performs reception, chair-side assisting, inventory and dental record duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists the dentist and hygienists in chair-side procedures routinely done in a general and pediatric dental practice.
Responsible for preparation and setting up of instruments, materials, and equipment necessary for each procedure.
Responsible for the sterilization of instruments, and the cleaning and routine maintenance of equipment and work areas.
Occasionally schedules patients, and accurately records information on patient records.
Exhibits positive leadership skills, actively striving to improve the patient and staff experience of Clinica, as well as strong communication skills, including willingness to grow and develop skills in motivational interviewing.
Assist in processing encounters.
Identify related medical and/or social problems.
Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and materials as well as maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of inventory.
Assists with the training of new Dental Assistants.
Hospital Responsibilities (If applicable):
Assist the Dentist in dental surgical procedures.
Review pre-operative and post-operative instructions with guardian.
Document treatment and other notes in EDR.
Responsible for the preparation and set up of the Operating Room.
Maintain knowledge of supplies and inventory in the Dental Cart and storage room.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of consent forms regarding surgical procedures. Review with patient and guardian as needed.
Adhere to PPE operating room requirements.
Comply with Children’s Hospital North Surgery Center and Clinica employee policies and procedures including, but not limited to (privileging and credentialing, handling equipment, sterilization, etc…).
Adhere to Children’s Hospital North Surgery Center Radiation and Safety procedure. Follow correct operating procedure for NOMAD.
Keep and maintain professional working relationship with staff from Children’s Hospital North Surgery Center.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
HS diploma or GED.
Graduate from dental assistant school or certification preferred but not required.
Previous experience desired, but not required.
X-ray certification preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Sensitivity to low income, ethnic minority community.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
