Are you a Dentist looking for a flexible position, part-time hours with full benefits? The Dentist, part-time will meet, assess and diagnose oral health conditions of patients of Evergreen Health’s Dental Care Practice. They will be responsible for prescribing appropriate medications, health regimens and lifestyle adjustments that contribute to their recovery from diagnosed health issues, prevent health issues, and/or promote a healthier lifestyle. They collaborate and support team members to ensure a patient-focused approach to care. These responsibilities may be revised, as necessary, with proper notification and training provided, where appropriate.
As part of the essential functions of this role, the Dentist,-part-time will:
Meet with patients to discuss and treat dental concerns, performing regular cleanings and other preventative procedures, and establish a plan for better dental hygiene
Perform oral exams, dental surgeries, operative procedures, fabricate oral prosthetic devices, and all other necessary dental procedures required to provide patients with quality dental care
Perform dental procedures such as extractions, root canals, identifying tooth decay and filling cavities with suitable restorations
Conduct a thorough medical record review of all patients referred to the dental practice
Conduct diagnostic testing, including X-Rays, to diagnose oral health conditions
Design and fit dental prosthetics, such as crowns, bridges, and dentures
Correcting bite issues and overcrowding
Prescribe medication as needed
Educate patients on preventive dental care, including proper oral hygiene and importance of regularly scheduled oral health exams
Recommend patients to dental specialists as needed for recommended procedures
Maintains medical records relating to the oral health of the patient and the treatments provided to them
Maintains knowledge of local, state and federal rules and regulations relative to the operations of the practice
Provides oversight of infection control policies and procedures
Promotes a team based, patient centered model of care through leadership and practice
Collaborate and support team members to ensure a patient-focused approach to care
Qualified candidate will have a Doctorate of Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine, will be licensed to practice dentistry in the state of New York, will have current BLS and CPR certifications, and will have continuing education courses for new procedures and standards. Candidate must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, patients, board members, vendors and other external contacts. Ability to handle sensitive material, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and displaying sound judgment, essential. Candidate must be proficient with computers and MS software (Outlook, Word) preferred. Candidate must have excellent organizational and time management skills and have high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the issues that underserved populations, people living with HIV, and people who use drugs face, including health disparities that affect people of color at a disproportionate rate.

Required license/certification: License to practice dentistry in New York state; BSL and CPR certification
