Responsibilities:
Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Initiate and maintain compliance with company policies for accreditation.
Complete an initial dental screening on all new commitments within seven (7) days.
Evaluate patients needing or applying for dental care.
Take impressions for dental plates and send prostheses to outside dental labs.
Formulate and create individual treatment plans after a thorough exam.
Perform routine cleaning, drilling, filling, and extraction of teeth following National Commission for Correctional Health Care Standards for dental care.
Teach about diet, flossing, use of fluoride, and other aspects of dental care.
Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented dental conditions.
Produce clear and concise health records, reports, and correspondence, including the use of Electronic Health Records system.
Maintain supplies and equipment inventory.
Provide in-service training for health staff members (dental hygiene, dental care, dental emergencies, and techniques).
Supervise professional, technical, and administrative staff.
Collaborate with the Hospital medical team, Psychiatric, Mental Health Professionals, Nurses, Health Technicians, and Administrative Assistants.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge (attend workshops/seminars/conferences, review professional publications, etc.)
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
Degree in dentistry from an accredited dental school required. Licensed to practice as a registered dentist in the state in which the facility is located is required.
Professional license must remain on file at all times at the facility where services are rendered.

Advanced Dental Care is looking for a full time Dental Assistant to join our practice located in Ocala, FL. Candidates must have prior hands on dental assisting experience to be considered (prefer minimum 1 year)
You will greet patients, prepare exam rooms, and help the dentist during patient examinations and other dental procedures. Between patients, you will clean exam rooms and replenish supplies. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and be able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. This is a full time opportunity. We offer full benefits, PTO & paid holidays!
The hours for this position will be Monday - Thursday 8am- 5pm and Friday 8am-4pm. The pay range is $18.00-$20.00.

Summary
The Dental Hygienist performs professional work by providing dental hygiene services, assisting a dentist in providing dental care and treatment, providing dental hygiene examinations, or conducting health care education and training programs in preventative dental care and oral hygiene.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
At this level, the Dental Hygienist is assigned duties and responsibilities which involve planning, implementing, evaluating, or supervising dental health care or education and prevention programs
Cleans, sterilizes and polishes dental instruments and arranges instruments in cabinets.
Prepares patients for treatment; prepares trays of instruments and supplies.
Cleans patients' teeth by removing lime calculus deposits, accretions and stains from exposed surfaces of teeth and directly beneath the free margins of the gum; gives topical caries prevention treatment to the coronal surfaces of the teeth.
Performs functions such as dental charting, periodontal charting, classifying occlusions, treatment of dry sockets, preparing, placing, and removing periodontal packs, placement of temporary fillings, cleaning of removable prostheses, and removal of overhanging margins under close supervision and with specific direction by a dentist.
Makes dental inspections; demonstrates, with models and other visual aids, preventive dental care to individuals and groups; participates in in-service training programs; prepares and delivers lectures on dental health before groups of school, civic and professional personnel.
Plans, implements, and evaluates dental health education or prevention programs; provides consultation in dental care and oral hygiene; participates in the training of dental assistants and others in providing dental care and education.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
State of Florida certification to practice dental hygiene from the Florida Board of Dentistry.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of dental hygiene including routine terms, instruments, supplies, equipment and procedures used in the operation of dental clinics, types of sterilization and sterile techniques; of methods of processing and developing x-ray film, oral anatomy and standards of oral hygiene, practices of hygiene and nutrition as related to dental health, basic techniques of teaching, the prevention of dental disease, current literature in the area, education theory and techniques in the field of public health, and of the techniques and uses of visual aids.
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to plan, organize and give dental treatment and dental hygiene examinations, to provide training and instruction in dental care and oral hygiene, to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to supervise and coordinate the activities of others; and to train and instruct groups.
Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department

This is a full-time W-2 position offering long-term placement, health benefits, and paid time off
Work hours will normally be Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The facility is expected to require forty (40) hours per week.
*Description of Duties*

These services, although not directly supervised, will be reviewed by a physician on staff at the institution. The performance of these services will also be verified by the designated COR.

* Provide dental prophylaxis on inmate who are referred by the dental staff
* Provide thorough individualized oral hygiene instructions to each patient
* Monitor oral hygiene and periodontal condition on each patient seen for dental prophylaxis
* Complete necessary dental x-rays as specified by the dentist such as panoramic x ray, periapical x rays, and bitewing x rays.
* Perform sterilization of dental instruments as well as record keeping associated with this task, and perform clinical operatory disinfection
* Provide chair side clinical assistance to the Dentist as needed
* Perform electronic scheduling of patients for dental prophylaxis, and general clerical duties normally performed in a dental office
* Utilize the electronic medical record (BEMR) to document all patient encounters, modify waiting lists, run rosters, etc.
*Education and Experience*
* Must be licensed as a Dental Hygienist in the state of Florida and must submit photocopies of their license and/or board certification to the institution after award.
* Must be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
* The individual performing the services must also maintain a current radiology certification to perform dental x-rays.
