Description

Surgical Dental Assistant Needed We are an exceptional and highly respected Oral Maxillofacial and Implant Surgery team located in Williamsburg, VA. We are seeking an outstanding surgical assistant. This is a full time position, office hours are M, T, Th, F 7:30 –3:30 pm, with some Wednesdays. Hours may vary depending on surgical schedule. Salary is commensurate with experience and willingness to learn. This position includes all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery patient care including surgeries, consultations and follow-up visits. If you are energetic, a team player with a positive attitude, have an outgoing personality with a commitment to care for our valued patients, then this is the job for you. If you are a previous dental assistant, we are willing to train you to become surgical assistant!!! Job Description Every Oral Surgeon knows they’re only as good as their assistant. We want the best dental assistants/specialty assistants in the industry. We want dental assistants who: · Greet every patient with a warm introduction, a smile, and a THANK YOU for coming to our office! · Create positive patient relations · Are gentle and empathetic for our patients · Anticipate, are proactive, and have active listening skills · Take dental x-rays · Order and maintain dental supplies and equipment · Setup operatory rooms · Prepare tray setups for dental/surgical procedures · Maintain office and operatory cleanliness · Ensure equipment functionality · Records treatment information in patient records · Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment · Conduct work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety, OSHA, and MSDS guidelines · Receiving patients, viewing charts, and beginning patient preparation · Must ensure that surgical instruments are properly cleaned and sterilized before procedures begin · Checking vital signs or maintaining IV fluid flows during procedures.
