Job Description: Skilled Dental Assistant – Impact Dentistry Position Title: Dental Assistant Location: Arlington, Texas Reports To: Lead Dental Assistant / Dentist Office Production Goal: Support a fast-paced, high-production dental practice Position Summary: Impact Dentistry is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Dental Assistant who is eager to learn, thrive in a high-paced environment, and provide exceptional support to a driven dentist. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, capable of working efficiently under pressure, and passionate about delivering excellent patient care. As part of a dynamic dental team, the Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining smooth clinical operations and ensuring a positive experience for patients. Key Responsibilities: 1. Clinical Support • Assist the dentist chairside during a wide variety of dental procedures, ensuring all tools and materials are readily available for efficient treatment. • Anticipate the dentist’s needs during procedures and provide support for all types of dental services, including restorative, cosmetic, and surgical procedures. • Maintain a clean and organized operatory, following strict sterilization and infection control protocols. • Ensure all instruments, equipment, and materials are properly sterilized, prepared, and available for use during procedures. 2. Patient Care & Comfort • Welcome patients, make them feel comfortable, and prepare them for treatment. • Educate patients about proper oral hygiene, pre-and post-treatment care, and any necessary follow-up instructions. • Build rapport with patients and provide a calm, supportive presence to reduce anxiety during dental procedures. 3. Administrative & Office Support • Assist with patient charting, taking accurate and detailed notes during procedures. • Manage patient records, digital radiographs, and assist in entering data into the practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Curve, Archy, Care Stack). • Assist with scheduling patient appointments and ensuring optimal use of the dentist’s time and chairside availability. 4. Eager to Learn & Adapt • Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and improvement, attending training sessions and staying updated on the latest dental techniques and technology. • Be open to learning new skills and expanding your knowledge base, ensuring that you grow alongside the practice. 5. Fast-Paced Environment Support • Thrive in a high-paced environment, ensuring that the clinical team operates efficiently without compromising patient care. • Adapt to changing situations quickly, whether it’s managing a busy schedule, assisting with multiple procedures, or responding to patient needs. • Collaborate effectively with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth daily operations, even during high-volume patient days. Skills & Qualifications: • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience in a fast-paced environment preferred. New graduates from accredited dental assisting programs are encouraged to apply. • Education: Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant Program and current Texas RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) license. • Eager to Learn: Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning new techniques and skills to enhance clinical performance. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in taking digital X-rays, four-handed dentistry, sterilization protocols, and familiarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft). • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide excellent patient care and work effectively with the dental team. • Team Player: A collaborative team member who can adapt quickly and is willing to jump in where needed to support the office. • Problem-Solving: Ability to think on your feet and assist the dentist in delivering the highest level of patient care in a fast-paced setting. • Patient Focused: Commitment to providing exceptional care, ensuring patient comfort, and contributing to a positive overall experience.
