Hygienists maintain independent professional responsibility for patient care while working to meet agency goals within department guidelines as administered by the Dental Program Director. The Hygienist affects the efficiency and productivity of patient flow through timely, accurate and professional preparation of patients and patient information, including taking and processing x-rays. The Hygienist in this position may provide services in a fixed clinic, mobile dental facility or in a community-based setting. Primary Responsibilities: * Directly affect improvements in patient well-being through delivery of high quality preventative dental treatment * Ensure the delivery of competent, accurate dental care, and treatment as assigned * Provide personalized dental health education * Performance of expanded duties where qualified, including treatment on a mobile dental unit * Ensure accuracy, efficiency and appropriate confidentiality with patient charting, and related recordkeeping * Calibrated annually to perform community screenings Education/Experience: Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program. North Carolina Dental Hygiene License. Current CPR certification. Two years of experience preferred.
