Growing state of the art dental practice in Richmond, Texas is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team. If this sounds like you, please apply. We look forward to meeting you! Job Summary: The Dental Assistant supports the clinical treatment care of patients. Other functions include sustaining patient comfort and confidence; managing supplies; listening to patients needs and educating them on dental procedures; working efficiently to maintain the doctor’s schedule and adhering to all OSHA and safety policies and procedures. Key Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Prepares patient room and patient for dental treatment Follows protocol in preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment and completing preventative maintenance Assists the Dentist by positioning, suctioning and passing instruments Responsible for taking digital images Educates patients on oral hygiene, plaque control and postoperative instructions Documents dental care services by charting in patient records Takes impressions of patient’s teeth for study models Responsible for fabricating temporary restorations, cleaning and polishing removable appliances Skills/Qualifications: Certified Dental Assistant Dental x-ray license CPR Certification Dentrix experience preferred Excellent communication, organization and patient care Superior knowledge of dental assisting procedures and dental terminology Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new programs Ability to remain continuously on task with patient care the priority.
