Job Type Full-time Description Working at Ben Massell Dental Clinic (BMDC) The Ben Massell Dental Clinic is one of several programs under the auspices of Jewish Family and Career Services. BMDC is a fast-paced state of the art dental facility with over 100 volunteer dentists providing quality dental care to individuals in Metro Atlanta. The clinic has 15 operatories and the absolute latest in dental equipment. The clinic has an opening for a full-time dental assistant. We offer a very Competitive Salary and excellent Benefits package. Applicant must be knowledgeable of dental procedures, Restorative, Endo, Prosthetics, Crowns (making temp crowns) Perio, Oral Surgery. Proficient in taking X-rays. Knowledgeable of dental instruments, organization, and safe sterilization practices are required. Along with guides and maintenance records for equipment care. In addition to Professionalism, Good Communication skills, this job also requires Commitment and Integrity, Compassion and Respect, Innovation and Collaboration, and Responsiveness to Diverse needs. This position is perfect for the experienced Dental Assistant or new in the field and in search of work-life balance. Facilitates an efficient flow of patients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Facilitating an efficient flow of patients • Providing chair-side assistance to the dentist when treating patients including: seating patients, prepare and arrange dental materials and instruments, assessing health history, giving post-operative instructions and preparing for the next patient. • Keeping all operatories clean; maintains an adequate stock of materials for the attending dentist. • Uses sterile techniques adhere to proper procedures in sterilization and PPE standards. • A plus if knowledgeable and experienced in the following: Digital x-rays and be able to take necessary radiographs. Fabricate temporary crowns. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • Graduate of a certified dental assistant school plus obtained diploma or certificate. • Previous work experience as a full-time dental assistant. Paid assistant may be substituted for formal education on a year-to-year basis. .
