FULL TIME Orthodontic Technician, Mooresville, NC -$16.00-$23.00 per hour based on experience Job description Saks Orthodontics is looking to expand our team! Our established and professional orthodontic practice is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and articulate, Orthodontic Assistant. POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a variety of orthodontic assisting duties in compliance with state regulations to promote quality orthodontic care for patients/parents in a stress-free, comfortable environment. Assists the doctor in orthodontic procedures, instructs patients/parents in oral hygiene techniques, communicates effectively with patients/parents, maintains equipment and inventory, exposes radiographs, adheres to OSHA and HIPAA requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: Review patients’ medical history and records Prepare patients for diagnosis and/or treatment Assist doctor during treatment Perform various orthodontic procedures under direction of orthodontist including: Banding and bonding procedures Orthodontic records (photos, impressions, radiographs) Digital Scanning Band fitting Placement and removal of separators Changing arch wires or ties Deliver retainers and other removable appliances Adjustment of removable appliances Charting and record treatment information in chart Clean and stock operatory May include occasional Lab work including using a 3D printer, trimming models, unpack and follow Invisalign/Clear aligner cases Perform any reasonable request from manager and/or Dr. Responsible for complying with OSHA, HIPAA security, and privacy policies at all times. JOB SPECIFICATION: Minimum high school graduate Preferred 2+ Years of Orthodontic assisting/dental assisting experience (Salary correlates to experience) Radiology certified in NC required DAII Certification a PLUS Coronal Polish Certificate a PLUS COMPETENCIES: Exceptional human relations skills Ability to maintain outgoing, friendly attitude with patients and staff even under pressure Ability to work with interruptions and to manage multiple priorities Ability to speak, understand, and write fluent English Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation Ability to complete tasks within time frame Manual dexterity Knowledge of dentistry and orthodontics Ability to accept and follow instructions Computer literate SKILLS: (equipment) Radiography – digital sensors Lab – model trimmer Sterilization – autoclaves, dryclaves, ultrasonic, handpiece equipment WHAT WE OFFER: A full-time position (approximately 34hrs per week) as an Orthodontic Assistant/Technician with the opportunity to work in a fun, high-energy, professional, and team-oriented environment. (After a 90 day probation period a health care stipend will also be offered based on the number of hours worked weekly as well as participation in our bonus program.)
