Description

Orchard Family Dental is a modern family-owned dental practice located in Suwanee, GA. Providing top-quality patient care is our mission, and we are seeking a qualified dental assistant that will work well as a team while being able to provide individualized care for the patients. The qualified candidate should have professional experience working alongside a licensed dentist and assisting with procedures including but not limited to extractions, root canal treatment, and crowns/bridges. Compensation is negotiable and commensurate with the candidate’s work experience and knowledge. Please note this is a part-time position for Tuesdays and Fridays along with two Saturdays per month. Responsibilities: - Deliver quality and compassionate care to every patient - Guide patient throughout office from check-in to check-out - Provide oral hygiene and post-operative instructions and education - Present treatment processes and protocol to the patient/guardian - Set up and break down each operatory based on the appointment schedule - Prepare the patient for x-rays (if required) and examination - Take x-rays and properly store images in software - Sterilize and disinfect all instruments, equipment, chairs, and rooms - Assist Dentist during patient examinations and dental procedures - Maintain patient’s charts including periodontal and tooth charts - Replenish supplies in operatory and monitor inventory - Prepare materials for dental impressions - Set up and track lab cases - Assist with administrative duties when not with patients (answer phones, collect patient information, scheduling, etc.) Requirements and Qualifications: - Minimum 1 year of professional experience as a dental assistant experience required. 2+ years preferred - Dental assistant certificate from an accredited school/program - X-ray certification preferred - Current BLS/CPR certification - Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures and sterilization process - Four-handed dentistry experience a plus - Basic computer knowledge required: familiarity with Open Dental software preferred - Excellent written and communication skills
