Are you looking to work in a PRIVATELY OWNED Periodontal practice with an upbeat group of co-workers and a doctor who is great with patients? We are seeking a reliable and Skilled 2nd Oral Surgical Assistant/Dental Assistant to join our team in our Palm Harbor office. We provide periodontal treatment, & implants, to our patients. An exceptional patient experience for every patient is our top priority! Our Dental Assistants ALWAYS put the patient’s needs first. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, a team player, and someone eager to learn! This candidate would be able to work 3/4 days a week Monday - Wednesday and Every Other Thursday. Hourly wages starting at $20-$24hr DOE, based on experience. We are seeking a SKILLED Surgical Assistant to join our team. As a Surgical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons and medical professionals during surgical procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the success and safety of each surgery. Duties: - Assisting the oral surgeon in the set-up, administration and recording of procedures under local anesthesia, nitrous sedation and IV sedation. - Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available - Assist surgeons and medical professionals during surgeries by passing instruments, sutures, and other necessary items - Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and ensure a sterile environment in the operating room - Monitor patient vital signs during surgeries and report any changes or concerns to the surgical team - Assist with patient assessment, including obtaining medical history and performing pre-operative preparations - Handle medical imaging equipment and assist with positioning patients for imaging procedures - Document patient information accurately in electronic health record systems such as Dentrix - Provide support to the surgical team by anticipating their needs and ensuring a smooth workflow - Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times - Taking impressions and pouring up models - Patient photos - X-rays and Cone Beams - Setting up appointments in Dentrix. MUST know Dentrix! - Adjusting and relining prosthesis - Assisting the doctor during a variety of surgical implant procedures - Pre and post op instructions Requirements: - Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or similar role is required - Proficiency in DENTRIX, is a MUST! - Must know how to do Perio Charting in Dentrix - Must know Post-Op and Re-Eval for Extraction, Bone Grafts, & Membranes - Proficiency in infection control protocols and maintaining a sterile environment - Knowledge of dental assisting techniques is preferred - Familiarity with medical imaging equipment and patient positioning procedures - Ability to accurately document patient information in electronic health record systems such as Dentrix - Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced surgical environment - Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team - Must have experience with Oral & IV Sedation If you are looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to the field of Dental Surgery as a Surgical Assistant, please submit your application today!
