Description

As a Dental Hygienist at our office, you will be an integral part of our team, working directly with patients to promote excellent oral health and provide preventive dental care. You will have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients and ensure they receive the highest standard of care. Key Responsibilities: Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque, tartar, and stains Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and performing oral cancer screenings Take and develop X-rays as necessary Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of maintaining healthy teeth and gums Collaborate with the dentist to develop treatment plans and ensure continuity of care Document patient treatment and progress in the dental records Sterilize and prepare dental instruments and equipment Assist in developing and implementing office protocols for infection control and patient care Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Build positive relationships with patients and provide excellent customer service Qualifications: Current state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist in Illinois Associate’s degree or higher in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, techniques, and dental equipment Experience in providing quality care and educating patients on oral health Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills CPR certification (required) Previous experience as a Dental Hygienist preferred, but not required
