Description

The Oral Surgery Assistant will support our surgeon in delivering high-quality surgical care. The ideal candidate will have a caring heart, a keen interest in learning, and at least one year of dental experience. They must be willing to achieve certifications in Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination (DAANCE) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Experience in oral surgery and proficiency in a second language are highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: Assist surgeon during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile and organized environment. Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and work areas. Provide pre-operative and post-operative care instructions to patients. Monitor and record vital signs during procedures. Take dental x-rays. Assist with administrative tasks, including patient scheduling and record keeping. Ensure patient comfort and manage anxiety during procedures. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols. Participate in continuing education and certification programs, including DAANCE and ACLS. Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of dental experience. Must possess a caring and compassionate demeanor. Willingness to achieve DAANCE and ACLS certifications. Oral surgery experience is a plus. Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a plus but not required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Basic computer skills and familiarity with dental software.
