Description
OSANT has 3 Oral Surgery Assistant positions available. 2 for the Dallas (Walnut Hill & 75) Location and a traveling assistant. Position Summary: The Surgical Assistant ensures the patient has an overall exemplary experience. Facilitates patient care by assisting the surgeon during consultation appointments and surgery. Tends to the overall smooth operation of the clinic through equipment maintenance and daily restocking of supplies and instruments. Primary Duties: 1. Competencies: Positively impact patients, referring offices and coworkers. Effectively implement all service values. Exceptional human relation skills Ability to resolve conflict Ability to work with people of all ages and disabilities Maintain professional demeanor at all times Ability to manage multiple priorities with interruptions Ability to complete tasks within the required time frame Manage patient flow 2. Consultations and Surgeries Assist on all surgical procedures (Extractions. 3rds, Implants, Biopsies, All on 4, Bollard. IV. Local) Reviews schedule and charts in preparation for all types of patient appointments Prepares rooms by cleaning and resets surgical equipment and instruments Radiograph technique for PA, panoramic and CBCT scans Recovers patients and provides efficient post-op care Answer patient clinical questions as directed by the doctor Coding and creating all treatment plans for patient Presenting and going over treatment and Pre-op care with patient Collecting payment if patient schedules within week Making post-op bags and consult folders Knowledge of sedation and prescription drugs Knowledge of vital monitor and understanding of vitals Sterile technique 3. Administrative Can perform daily start up and shut down procedures Schedule all types of appointments Track cases as assigned Perform inventory for clinical supplies and order within budget Answer phone in a warm and professional manner Can coordinate care with other providers Check voicemail and emails daily Snipping CT scans into panoramic Documentation of chart completion and scanning all documents after surgery Monthly drug log inventory Monthly Implant inventory Daily Night call for Surgeon Pull PMP for consultations daily 4. Maintenance Performs weekly maintenance of equipment Ensures all equipment is operational and in good working order Authorizes repairs to clinical equipment Maintain crash cart and emergency drugs Clean and stock rooms Unpacking and Storing supplies in a neat and orderly manner 5. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and Education: Basic Human Anatomy and Physiology Proficient with WINOMS EMR including E-Script Must be a Registered Dental Assistant with the State of Texas Must maintain Basic CPR Certification Emergency office training is required Certifications in Nitrous Oxide Must obtain DAANCE certificate within a year of employment Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory laws and licensing (HIPPA, OSHA, TSBD) Complete continuing education requirements 6.
