Description
Southwest Houston fee-for-service dental practice seeking an experienced Practice Manager. The practice is open Monday-Friday. Pay negotiable. Position Overview The Practice Manager will be responsible for enhancing transparency, maintaining relationships, and supporting revenue growth. The individual in this position will work closely with the doctor owner to identify and resolve operational opportunities while maintaining a passion for patient care. The Practice Manager will provide direct and indirect support for all team members, demonstrating strong communication skills and effective problem-solving abilities. Responsibilities Provide effective leadership, coaching, mentoring, training, development, and performance evaluations of team members. Performs Human Resources related functions, such as interviewing and selecting, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions and salary administration to maintain a staff suitable to meet department objectives. Serve as a Dental Insurance expert to maximize reimbursements and stay abreast of updates regarding procedure and coding trends. Act and serve as a resource in responding to questions (timely) that arise from all team members. Assist in identifying educational/training needs based on feedback from daily/weekly/monthly team meetings, Open Dental daily/weekly/monthly reports, and the use of KPIs. Correspond with the doctor(s) regarding documentation, billing, and coding guidelines. Review new policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines regarding OSHA, HIPAA, dental documentation, billing, coding, and compliance with state and federal regulations to ensure up-to-date knowledge. Read publications and attend seminars to remain current on industry trends, procedures, and best practices. Perform retrospective documentation review to identify areas where documentation deficiencies may have led to lost revenue. Collaborate with the doctor owner to ensure reliable and transparent communication. Assist with day-to-day responsibilities where the need is most prevalent during operational hours. Provide oversight and direction to team members. Perform other duties and assist with special projects as assigned by leadership. Contribute to practice outreach efforts and continue to bridge the gap between the dental practice and the community it serves. Oversee, uphold, and facilitate operational flow, including practice systems processes and protocols. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related field. In lieu of a degree, +8 years of experience is required or one of the combinations of education and experience. Must have 3+ years’ of experience and proficiency across a wide range of dental services (business, administrative, and clinical). Experience training/educating dental professionals in dental documentation, billing, coding, revenue cycle and compliance guidelines is a plus. Must portray excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to use data analytics tools and resources is key. Strong Microsoft Office, KPIs, and Practice Management software experience is required. Open Dental and Dental Intelligence experience is preferred but not required. Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with physicians and staff is essential to success. A positive attitude and a warm personality, who is approachable at all times by all team members, are absolutely mandatory.
