Job Title: Dental Front Office Personnel Reports to: Office Manager / Dentist Job Type: Full-time / Part-time Job Summary: The Dental Front Office Personnel serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This role involves managing administrative tasks, scheduling appointments, processing insurance claims, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities: 1. Patient Interaction & Customer Service Greet and check-in patients with a friendly and professional attitude. Answer phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries promptly. Provide information about dental services, policies, and payment options. Assist patients with completing forms and understanding insurance coverage. 2. Appointment Scheduling & Coordination Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently. Manage and optimize the daily schedule to minimize downtime. Send reminders for upcoming appointments and follow up on missed ones. Coordinate referrals to specialists when necessary. 3. Insurance & Billing Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility before appointments. Process insurance claims, follow up on approvals, and handle denials. Collect co-pays, process payments, and provide receipts. Explain billing and financial policies to patients. 4. Administrative & Office Management Maintain accurate patient records in dental practice management software. Organize and update office documents and paperwork. Assist with ordering office supplies and ensuring a clean, organized front desk area. Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma or equivalent (some college or certification in dental administration is a plus). Experience in a dental or medical office preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes. Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental) and Microsoft Office. Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work in a fast-paced environment. Work Schedule & Environment: Typically, full-time hours with some evening or weekend shifts based on the practice's schedule. Office setting, primarily at the front desk, with frequent interaction with patients and staff. Compensation & Benefits: Competitive hourly wage or salary (based on experience and location).
