**TOWN DENTISTRY - DULUTH LOCATION** Essential Job Functions: 1. LOVE WHAT YOU DO!! 2.Performs prophylactic treatment by the scaling and polishing of teeth. 3. Documents and notifies the dentist of existing restorations and notable areas of possible decay. 4. Takes diagnostic x-rays. 5. Administers fluoride treatment as needed. 6. Updates patients medical history. 7. Instructs patients in oral hygiene instruction. 8. Practices universal precautions and other sterilization and infection prevention procedures. Non-Essential Job Functions: 1. Schedules patients for recall appointments. 2. Prepares operatory for hygiene treatment. 3. Treatment plan and schedule recare appointments. 4. Maintains equipment. 5. Escorts patient to operatory. 6. Clean operatory and areas in office 7. Laundry as needed 8. Sterilization 9. Ordering and Inventory Licenses and Certifications Required: Valid State Dental Hygiene License, Current CPR certificate Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Registered Dental Hygienist is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and needle sticks. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, and use hands.
