Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dynamic pediatric dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for working with children, an exceptional understanding of pediatric dental procedures, and the ability to deliver excellent patient care. We do not provide oral sedation in office, but do offer general anesthesia for those that require advanced levels of care. Software Skills/Experience Desired: Open Dental, Dexis, and BlueNote We are looking for someone that is confident and capable. Does not thrive on drama or gossip and genuinely wants to grow alongside of us. We have two board certified pediatric dentists, one female and one male, with over 40 years of combined practice experience. Work life balance is our focus. We practice from 8-4 four days per week, little to no Fridays, paid holidays, SIMPLE IRA, and a TDA health insurance plan is available. And the boring stuff... Key Responsibilities: - Assist the dentist during various pediatric dental procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment. - Perform expanded functions such as sealants, coronal polishing, and other clinical procedures as permitted by Tennessee regulations. - Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and setting up for procedures. - Educate patients and their parents on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care. - Manage records and patient information accurately and confidentially. - Provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for children and their families, putting them at ease during their dental visits. - Collaborate with the dental team to enhance the overall patient experience. Qualifications: - Previous experience as a dental assistant in a pediatric setting is required. - Tennessee certification as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) - Current BLS
