We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Coordinator to join our dynamic team and help us continue delivering exceptional care to our patients. Position Overview: The Financial Coordinator plays a key role in managing the financial operations of the orthodontic practice. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate billing, handling insurance verification, processing patient payments, and working closely with patients to provide transparent financial information and payment options. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and have a solid understanding of medical billing practices, especially within the orthodontic field. Key Responsibilities: - Billing and Insurance Verification: Process insurance claims, verify patient insurance eligibility, and communicate with insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies. - Patient Financial Management: Create and maintain financial records for patients, including treatment plans, payments, and account balances. Assist patients with payment options and provide financing solutions when needed. - Payment Processing: Process patient payments, including co-pays, out-of-pocket costs, and payment plans. - Collections Management: Follow up on overdue payments, send patient statements, and handle collections in a courteous and professional manner. - Patient Communication: Educate patients on financial aspects of their treatment, explain payment policies, and offer financial advice when necessary. - Collaboration with Clinical Team: Work closely with the orthodontic team to ensure that patient treatment plans align with financial arrangements and insurance coverage. - Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate financial records, generate financial reports for the practice, and provide financial summaries as required by the management team. - Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, answering questions related to billing, payments, and insurance coverage in a clear and professional manner. Qualifications: - Experience: Previous experience in a financial coordinator or billing role, ideally within a healthcare or orthodontic setting. - Knowledge: Strong knowledge of orthodontic treatment plans, insurance verification, and billing codes. - Skills: Proficient in dental/orthodontic software and Microsoft Office Suite; excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in handling financial documents and patient accounts. - Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing exceptional service to patients. - Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in finance, business, or healthcare administration preferred. - Certifications: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or other related certifications is a plus but not required.
