Key responsibilities of a dental billing coordinator: Claim submission: Accurately prepare and submit electronic and paper dental insurance claims to various payers, including verifying patient demographics and insurance information, selecting appropriate dental codes, and adhering to billing guidelines. Patient verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and copayments before treatment to inform patients about potential out-of-pocket costs. Claim follow-up: Monitor the status of submitted claims, identify and address claim rejections or denials, resubmit claims as needed, and contact insurance companies to resolve billing issues.
