Lanier Valley Dentistry is looking for a skilled dental hygienist that brings a lot of fun and personality to our privately owned cosmetic and family dental practice. The opportunity we have currently is for a FULL TIME DENTAL HYGIENIST. We are closed on Mondays. We also are looking for an experienced Dental Assistant for PART TIME on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have a lot of fun in our office and are a very close work family, but we also get to work when patients are here and ready. We do a lot of activities together outside of the office that help us work together and further our relationships. Hinman Dental Meeting is always an exciting enriching weekend with lots of fun included. Other CE events we have enjoyed are Top Golf, Andretti's, Frankies steakhouse, Halloween team bonding, summer lake days and even Mexico. Our office is an established state of the art facility and we work hard to maintain a sterling reputation in the NE Atlanta area. Our office is one exit north of the Mall of Georgia off I-85 in Hamilton Mill (Dacula). We do a wide range of dental procedures but currently the majority of the practice is periodontal scalings, prophys, crown, bridge, surgery, and implants. We are looking for someone that has great hygiene experience but has knowledge in these types of procedures and a passion for dentistry and making our patients comfortable during all procedures. The duties of a dental hygienist are among the most comprehensive and varied in the dental office. We are looking for a dental hygienist who can perform many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. In addition to the skills set forth above, we require the following from our staff. -Be an enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeable team player! -A very good understanding of computers and how to navigate them. We use Windows computers with Curve Hero dental practice management software. This is a cloud based software so our office is completely paperless. We don’t expect you to be familiar with Curve Hero systems, but if you are...that helps a lot. -Outstanding knowledge of the periodontium, pathology, disease and how to explain and treat these issues. - A comprehensive understanding of the connection of oral health to general health and to be able to communicate these to the patient. -Understand the intricacies of proper hygiene scheduling, production and efficiencies. -Experience with diagnosis and treatment of scaling and root planning, antimicrobial placement, prophy, and child prophy. -Taking digital dental radiographs as needed. -Communicating patient's medical history including taking blood pressure and pulse. -Serving as an infection control officer, following and developing infection control protocols as needed. -Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment. -Providing patients with instructions for oral care following, SRP, prophy, debridement, surgery or other dental treatment procedures. -Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., toothbrushing, flossing and nutritional counseling) coronal polishing and flossing. -Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, oral surgery, endodontics.
