Family Wellness Dentistry is searching for a Registered Dental Hygienist to add to our Team! We are hiring for a Full Time Permanent Position. Looking for candidates with 2+ years experience. Who We Are: - Family Wellness Dentistry is a private, out of network, general dentistry and family practice delivering premium dental care and exceptional customer service to the people of Plano and surrounding neighborhoods. They not only provide a comforting smile and a personalized greeting to patients that visit our office, but they also impact overall patient satisfaction and retention, in addition to maintaining a strong recall patient base for the practice. Your role as the most common point of clinical contact for our patients is truly important to us. We are looking for a Dental Hygienist who is ready for the challenge of growing and developing their career alongside our Clinical Team in a dynamic family-oriented culture. Of course, there are some requirements for all Dental Hygienists: • Provide exceptional customer service by making the patient the #1 priority • Be present, engaged and ready to work at all assigned shift times • Work well as part of a dental office team, be helpful to coworkers and treat them with respect • Communicate with patients in a courteous manner, using recommended verbiage • Demonstrate and influence a culture of good teamwork to deliver an extraordinary experience for every patient • Take diagnostic quality radiographs, and clear intra-oral photos using an intraoral camera • Input existing dental treatment, perio charting, dental conditions, medical history information, etc. into Open Dental • Clean patients’ teeth (both prophylaxis and scaling and root planning) thoroughly, efficiently, and with a strong attention to detail, and in a compassionate, thoughtful manner • Be able to clearly and concisely educate patients on their gingival health and the reason scaling and root planning is required instead of a prophylaxis • Give oral hygiene instructions and nutritional counseling • Address patient’s questions and/or concerns, and know when to collaborate with the doctor • Call patients who are due for recall appointment to fill your schedule. • Communicate the arrival of a patient and their needs to the clinical staff, as well as notifying the providers of any changes/anticipated issues with the daily schedule • Assist patients in completing new patient health history forms and accurately enter all patient information into the dental software, ensuring that we have the most updated information on file for each patient • Accurately record and document diagnosed treatment plans, case acceptances and arranged treatments; and be prepared to positively present treatment plans adhering to practice protocol • Actively ask existing patients to refer friends and family members to the practice • Complete checklists as assigned and participate in daily huddles to ensure that every single day flows smoothly • Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance • Follow the organization’s safety policies and procedures through OSHA compliance and BBP (Blood-borne Pathogens) federal regulations • Maintain a clean and tidy patient reception area and front desk area • Perform other duties as required to support the office, such as helping the clinical team clean operatories, autoclaving instruments, take notes for the doctor during patient exams, schedule appointments, take payments, create insurance claims, etc. Education/Certification: • Registered Dental Hygienist License • CPR certification • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training Skills/Abilities: • Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred • Excellent positive attitude and customer service skills • Professionalism and integrity in all aspects of the job, including image and both verbal and written communication skills • Possess exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, including conflict resolution skills • Strong organization, planning and analytical skills • Ability to multi-task and remain calm in a rapidly changing environment • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn programs as required • Experience with practice management software Open Dental • Ability to work late if the schedule dictates it Work environment/Conditions: • Overtime required as approved by the doctors • Travel as needed for training and to perform job functions • Safety procedures and personal protective equipment required to minimize the risks from radiographs and blood-borne pathogens • Potential of prolonged sitting and standing Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this work.
