In 2018, the Minneapolis Veterans Home built a state of the art fixed dental clinic with the support of various grant funds. Since that time, we have continued to expand our care and have received recognition for the quality of services and advocacy for our geriatric resident population.
This Dental Hygienist position is a new position as we develop and increase our service delivery model. Working with a contracted team of dentists – this position is primarily responsible for providing dental hygiene and preventative services to the 300 residents of the Minneapolis Veterans Home - and building the recare program which is a strategic goal of our oral health initiative in 2024. This position not only focuses on hygiene services to our residents, but includes the opportunity to provide training and support to our direct care staff in proper brushing and hygiene efforts.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Registration with the Minnesota Board of Dentistry as a Dental Hygienist, in good standing.

As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the Doctor in providing quality dental treatment and education to patients.
Responsibilities:
Clinical Requirements
Dental Assistants are required to have:
A current Minnesota Dental Assistant License
Certified to apply dental sealants, gingival cord displacement, and monitor nitrous oxide in Minnesota
Current CPR certification obtained through the American Heart Association health care provider course, the American Red Cross professional rescuer course, or an equivalent course
Work Schedule:
Forbes Dental (now - November)
Monday - Thursday: 7:30am - 5pm
Friday: Off
Park Dental Silver Lake (starting in November)
Monday: Off
Tuesday: 6:30am - 2:15pm
Wednesday: 6:30am - 2:15pm
Thursday: 12:30pm - 8:15pm
Friday: 6:30am - 4:15pm
