ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The administrative dental assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and handling patient billing. In addition to these administrative duties, the assistant is also responsible for administering the day-to-day activities of the dental office with impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Cheerfully Greet patients
• Answer phones
• Verify patient current insurance, address, email, phone number(s) on file
• Ensure doctor and hygienist schedules are confirmed via Smile Reminder, email, or phone
• Fill voids/cancellations in schedules.
• Manage day-to-day operations of front desk.
• Respond to email, text, and/or voice messages in a timely manner
• Collect patient out of pocket (OOP) fees including: Copays, deductibles, %’s not covered by insurance
• Assist office manager with monthly reports.
• Scan documents into correct patient files
• Daily post and balance insurance payments
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Excellent communication skills. Dental office experience, Working knowledge of computers for word processing, insurance claims processing and records management; Dentrix software experience; Knowledge or experience in staff management; Experience handling confidential information; Team player; Experience with conflict resolution; Ability to communicate all concerns to dental team.

Office hours:
Mon, Tues, Thurs, 8 am to 5pm (Lunch 1pm – 2pm)

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of anatomy is beneficial
