Dr. Kathleen S. Winn, DMD is an established State of the Art private practice currently seeking an experienced, full time dental assistant to join our team who will bring a positive mindset and willingness to learn new skills. The dental assistant will work under direct and indirect supervision and will assist the Dentist in both administrative and clinical duties including prepare patient for procedure or exam, sterilize and disinfect instrument, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, obtain traditional and digital impressions, and assist during dental procedures. The position will provide patient and practice support services, including, but not limited to, personal assistance, medical attention, and emotional support. Radiology license and CPR certification preferred. We offer a generous benefit package including earned time off, retirement plan, health insurance and staff dental care. Rate of pay will be determined based on experience and skills you will bring to the practice.

About this role:

The Dentist is responsible for providing dental services to inmate patients within the institution they are assigned to, while adhering to the security regulations of the facility. They are required to maintain accurate and timely documentation of their services and provide it to the director or designee to ensure compliance with client contract and proper compensation for services rendered.

What you bring to the table:

Education

Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine.

Experience

One year of experience in general dentistry preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

Must have and maintain current licensure as a dentist within the state of employment.
Must obtain and maintain CPR certification.
What you will do:
Provides dental care and treatment to referred patients in accordance with facility regulations and standards.
Performs routine cleaning, restorative dentistry, and extractions as needed.
Evaluates patients' dental care needs and makes clinically appropriate recommendations.
Takes impressions for dental appliances and instructs patients in good dental hygiene techniques.
Maintains accurate and confidential patient records and provides in-service training for health staff members.

Maintains x-ray, processor, autoclave, and dental unit(s) according to specifications
Manages inventory of supplies and equipment, orders supplies and ensures set up of trays for patients
