Skills
Proven experience as dental assistant

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Part Time (bilingual) Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the orthodontist in various procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The hours are: Wednesdays, Thursdays, every other Friday and every other Saturday.
Duties:
Assist the orthodontist during dental procedures, including orthodontic adjustments, appliance placement, and removal - Take and develop dental x-rays - Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and care instructions - Perform basic dental laboratory tasks, such as pouring models and fabricating retainers - Maintain accurate patient records in practice management software - Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality - Cross training to be able to assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, answering phone and taking down new patient information - Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.

Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
