What does a Dental Hygienist do?
As a Dental Hygienist at Toothio, your responsibilities include conducting initial patient screenings, performing teeth cleaning (such as plaque removal), and providing guidance on oral health and preventative care. Collaborate with dentists to determine treatments for teeth or gum diseases.
We're looking for reliable individuals capable of building trust with patients of all ages, possessing deep knowledge of health and safety rules and a keen eye for oral diseases and anomalies. If you have steady hands and an excellent bedside manner, we want to meet you.
Responsibilities:
Ensure patients are at ease before examinations
Properly sterilize dental instruments
Conduct initial mouth screenings and review oral health history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis
Clean and protect patients' teeth (e.g., remove plaque or apply fluoride)
Educate patients on proper teeth care, demonstrating good brushing techniques
Provide post-operation instructions to patients
Take X-rays or dental impressions
Assist dentists in selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases, including oral cancer
Maintain documentation and charts for each patient
Monitor supplies
Skills:
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or similar role
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
Patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
Diploma in Dental Hygiene (preferred)
Valid license to practice (preferred)
