Basic Requirements:

* Radiology certification and DPH Dental Assistant License.

- Taking patient radiographs.

- Taking dental molds of patients’ teeth for the fabrication of customized mouthguards and retainers.
- Removing and replacing wires, coil springs, o-ties, and elastic bands.
- Educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices and braces care.
Orthodontic Dental Assistant Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- CPR certification.

Administrative and organizational tasks (yes, even as a clinical assistant) that take detail. Drill those details down.
You talk to patients ALL DAY LONG - Answer phones and communicate with patients on HIPAA compliant text and email. (yes, even as a clinical assistant)
Strong communication skills, especially with patient - both verbal and written

Clinical Duties:
- Assist the orthodontist during patient procedures such as placing and adjusting braces, scanning for Invisalign, taking X-rays, and impressions.
- Sterilize and organize instruments and maintain a clean and orderly clinical environment.
- Prepare patients for orthodontic treatments and explain procedures to ensure a comfortable experience.
- Manage patient flow and assist with charting, digital records, and treatment notes.
Customer Service Duties when needed:
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and up to date.
