*Qualifications*
* Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree-accredited dental school
* Current/Active license in good standing in this state (or eligible to obtain)

4-5 hours per week - Thursday mornings - 8:30am start time
GENERAL SCOPE: To perform oral prophylaxis and to provide instruction in oral health care.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: Graduation from approved Dental Hygiene Program with current license.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Obtain medical records and check health histories prior to performing exams and prophylaxis for any conditions requiring pre-medications and verify that medication has been administered.
Perform prophylaxis and expose radiographs according to the patient's ability to tolerate procedures. Clean and ID dentures.
Document procedures performed and any pertinent information in the patient's medical record and in the dental office record.
Prepare autoclave-monitoring ampules for autoclave testing.
Prepares basic prophylaxis set-ups.
All other job duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of dental hygiene experience. Geriatric experience preferred.
