Position Summary:
The Dental Sterilization Technician (Dental Assistant I) is responsible for the sterilization of dental instruments, dental equipment maintenance and performing chair side dental assisting duties.
Your contribution to the team includes:
Cleans, sterilizes and packages dental instruments.
Maintains tray set ups and ensures instruments are put away in designated areas.
Cleans and maintains sterilization equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
Conducts appropriate biological testing on equipment and maintains records on equipment testing, repair and maintenance.
Maintains dental supply inventory.
Assists dental assistants and expanded function dental assistants with cleaning and preparing dental operatories for patient care.
Works closely with dental assistants and expanded function dental assistants to ensure efficient workflows.
Performs chair side dental assisting duties as assigned.
Remains current on WISHA/OSHA guidelines pertinent to sterilization and updates sterilization policies and procedures as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Must have's you'll need to be successful:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Maintain current registration/licensure in Washington State as a Dental Assistant.

Position Summary:
The Chairside Dental Assistant (Dental Assistant II) is responsible for patient preparation, chair side support to dental providers, dental hygienist, sterilization, and clinic flow.
Your contribution to the team includes:
Greet and prepare patients for exams by identifying patient's chief complaint and taking vitals.
Access and update patient information in Electronic Dental Record (EDR) and Electronic Practice Management (EPM) computer system as required.
Provide chair side assistance to dental providers with exams and procedures including, but not limited to, prophylaxis, root canals, restorative, crowns and bridges.
Perform digital imaging, prophylaxis, sealants, provide telephone refilling of medications. Record medication refills in patient record.
Provide instructions to patients on the use of medications as directed by the provider.
Provide instruction in home care and give general health information as directed by a provider.
Sterilize used equipment, instruments and operatories following OSHA, WISHA guidelines. Prepare and stock operatories at the start and throughout each day.
Act as liaison between receptionists and providers ensuring timely and orderly patient flow throughout the clinic.
Maintain confidentiality of all patients medical/dental records, financial, and personal information.
Must have's you'll need to be successful:
Certificate from accredited Dental Assistant program or comparable experience of three (3) months of Dental Assistant Training.
Maintain current registration/licensure with the State of Washington.
Possesses basic operating knowledge of computers. Beginning level of Word, Excel and Outlook required.
Ability and willingness to work Saturdays.

Schedule (days/hours): MON-8am-5pm TUE & WED 9am-6pm THU 8am-5pm FRI 7am-4pm Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional patient care and create a welcoming environment for all patients in alignment with our G3 model (Greeting, Guiding, Gratitude)
Promote a Safe Smile Space (S3) for everyone, where safety and inclusion are paramount
Provide dental prophylaxis and periodontal treatments
Screen patients’ periodontal health
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
Perform oral cancer screenings
Screen for individual needs including malocclusion and educate patients about potential impacts
Continually develop leadership capabilities and business acumen through continued learning opportunities provided both externally and by Smile Brands
Qualifications:
Either an active state hygiene license or eligibility to become licensed (new grads are welcome!)
A current CPR certification
