Schedule:
Full-time position (also open to part-time)
Hours: Monday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Tuesday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Thursday 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and Friday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
1 Week of Immediate PTO available to full-time hygienist
What We're Looking For:
Family Dental Care of Wilmington is searching for a flexible and enthusiastic Dental Hygienist who is eager to help both our long-standing and new patients. The ideal candidate will:
Be proactive in helping to get our patient base caught up while also managing a flow of new patients.
Possess strong communication and technical skills.
Be open to and enthusiastic about ongoing education and training.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
Valid dental hygienist license in the state of North Carolina or eligibility to obtain.
A strong commitment to personal and professional growth through continuing education.
Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional dental hygiene treatments and patient care.
Conduct assessments, perform cleanings, and manage oral health plans.
Educate patients on maintaining and improving oral health.
Collaborate closely with dentists to plan and manage treatment.

Responsibilities:
The dental hygienist is responsible for performing licensed hygiene procedures, educating patients, and management of the nonsurgical periodontal program as directed by the dentist.
Establish and maintain continued patient care relationships.
Verify/document patient health history and educate patients about oral hygiene/health/disease as well as procedures and services offered.
Perform clinical hygiene functions including, but not limited to: exposing/evaluating diagnostic x-rays, taking and recording blood pressure, adult/child prophylaxis, non-surgical periodontal therapy, and co-assessing possible restorative treatments with the doctor.
Determine needs and perform sealant placement, Arestin, and fluoride treatments as needed.
Qualifications:
Dental hygiene certification from accredited dental hygiene school.
Current hygiene license where employed.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS and infection control training as required by law.
Experience with dental software.
