Dental Assistant About Us: Parkway Oral Surgery is private practice in Houston, TX. We are professional, fast-paced and a leading oral surgery practice dedicated to providing high-quality oral healthcare services to our community. We pride ourselves on a patient-centric approach, advanced technology, and a team of skilled professionals committed to delivering exceptional results. Job Qualifications • Current RDA is mandatory • BLS certification • Team Player • Organized and Multitask abilities • Previous experience in dental assisting is a plus, however we will interview driven new assistants. • Teamwork oriented personality • Detail oriented in work ethic • Good language skills (English proficiency is mandatory, Spanish fluency is a plus), able to communicate effectively with patients and doctors Job Description (not comprehensive): Preoperative Preparation: • Set up and prepare surgical tray, instruments, and equipment. • Assist in sterilization procedures • Greet and prepare patients for surgery, addressing any concerns or questions. Intraoperative Support: • Provide assistance during dental surgeries. • Pass instruments and materials to the oral surgeon as needed. • Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols. • Set up and monitor IV sedation under the direction of the oral surgeon. Postoperative Care: • Assist in postoperative care and instructions for patients. • Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment after procedures. • Manage and update patient records accurately.
