Palm Center Dental is now a PRIVATELY OWNED, single-doctor practice excited to add to our growing family! We believe in preventive care with a personal touch, which means involving our patients in discussing their treatment options and only recommending necessary treatments. Patients stay informed about their dental health and know that they are in safe hands. We are looking for a kind, skilled dental assistant who will make the dentist’s office more efficient and pleasant for patients. Someone who excels at customer service, and who will lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Should be well-organized with great attention to detail, able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. Responsibilities: Welcome customers in the dental office Willing to learn tasks and responsibilities of the front office Prepare patients for treatment or checkups ensuring their comfort Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Sterilize instruments according to regulations Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures Skills: 1 year proven experience as dental assistant Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour with monthly bonus for hitting goal Expected hours: 36 per week. GREAT OFFICE HOURS: Monday: 11am-7pm Tuesday: 10am-5pm Wednesday: 9am-5pm Thursday: 11am-7pm Friday: Alternating admin day (10-2pm) Benefits: Health insurance Paid time off Education: High school or equivalent (Required) Experience: Dental Assistants: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: X-Ray Certification (Required) CPR Certification (Required) Nitrous Oxide Certification (Preferred)
