Job Title: Dental Insurance Coordinator (VA Focus) Location: Jacksonville, FL Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and fast-learning Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Jacksonville, FL. This position will work exclusively with Veterans Affairs (VA) dental insurance processes, making experience with VA patients and billing procedures a significant plus. The role also requires expertise in managing a dental schedule and scheduling patients, as well as auditing the schedule to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: 1. VA Insurance Coordination Manage and process VA dental claims, verifying patient eligibility and coverage. Serve as a liaison between veterans and the VA to clarify insurance details and streamline the claims process. 2. Claims Management Prepare and submit accurate claims (electronic and paper). Follow up on outstanding or denied claims to ensure timely reimbursement. Communicate with VA and insurance representatives to resolve claim issues effectively. 3. Billing and Coding Leverage knowledge of CDT codes for proper procedure coding and claim submission. Maintain up-to-date billing practices in compliance with VA and industry standards. 4. Schedule Management & Auditing: Demonstrate expertise in managing a dental schedule and scheduling patients to maximize efficiency and patient flow. Conduct regular audits to identify scheduling discrepancies or potential issues affecting insurance claims or patient care. Collaborate with front desk and clinical staff to ensure appointments are booked accurately, minimizing downtime or conflicts. 5. Patient Communication Provide clear explanations of insurance benefits and coverage to patients. Offer cost estimates and address any questions regarding treatment plans or VA requirements. 6. Records Maintenance Maintain accurate patient and insurance records, complying with HIPAA regulations. Update patient files with critical billing, scheduling, and insurance details. 7. Team Collaboration Partner with front desk, clinical staff, and VA representatives to ensure seamless communication. Contribute to a positive work environment aligned with our core values. Qualifications: Experience: Previous experience in dental insurance coordination (preferably with VA patients). Proven proficiency in managing and auditing a dental schedule and scheduling patients. Coding Knowledge: Familiarity with CDT codes and common dental billing procedures. Attention to Detail: Proven ability to handle large volumes of data and claims with accuracy. Fast Learner: Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new processes, software, and VA guidelines. Technical Skills: Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and Microsoft Office Suite. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for patient and team interactions. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional certification or training in dental billing/coding is a plus.
