Description

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Part-Time Dental Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail, excellent patient care skills, and a commitment to following infection control protocols. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of care while maintaining a safe and sterile environment in compliance with all OSHA guidelines. Looking for Part Time Mondays and Tuesdays. Can modify days. Key Responsibilities: -Assist the dentist during various procedures, including taking and developing X-rays, sterilizing instruments, and preparing treatment rooms. -Ensure patient comfort by providing emotional support, explaining procedures, and maintaining a calm, professional demeanor. -Maintain accurate patient records and charting as required. -Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in accordance with OSHA standards for infection control and safety. -Clean and disinfect all surfaces in the treatment area to prevent cross-contamination. -Assist with the management of dental supplies, ensuring that inventory is kept up to date and ordering supplies as needed. -Adhere to office policies and procedures regarding patient care, confidentiality (HIPAA), and safety protocols. -Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations, including infection control, sterilization procedures, and safety standards. -Provide post-procedure instructions and answer any patient questions as needed. Essential Qualifications: Completion of an accredited dental assistant program (preferred but not required). Current CPR certification Previous experience as a dental assistant is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Knowledge of OSHA infection control standards, including proper handling and disposal of contaminated materials, disinfection protocols, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-focused approach to care. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Workplace Policies: -No Phone Usage: To ensure a focused and professional environment, the use of personal phones during working hours is strictly prohibited unless in an emergency. Please keep your phone on silent or vibrate mode and only use it during scheduled breaks. -Safety and Infection Control: You are expected to follow all OSHA regulations and practice proper infection control measures at all times. This includes wearing appropriate PPE (masks, gloves, gowns, etc.), sanitizing work areas, and ensuring safe disposal of hazardous materials. -Confidentiality: You will be expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all patient information at all times, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
